The Blessings and Impact of Cheerful Giving (2 Corinthians 9:6-15)

In our last post, we explored the foundation of generosity in the early church. Today, we’re diving into the blessings and impact of cheerful giving. We’ve asked, "How are we being generous to others?" and today we will look at what happens when we answer that question.

Cheerfully Giving (2 Corinthians 9:6-15):

2 Corinthians 9:6-15 teaches us that “God loves a cheerful giver.” When we give with the right heart, we experience God’s love. Our generosity also enriches us, enabling us to be even more generous. It’s a beautiful cycle.

Have you ever experienced the joy of blessing someone? It’s transformative. Insecurities fade as we trust God to provide. There’s a renewal within us as we give.

The Impact: Global and Local:

This isn’t just about feel-good moments. Our giving makes a real difference. We’re supporting missionaries on the frontlines, putting “seed in the hands of the sower.” And we’re reaching out locally, supporting a local foster family group.

We want to be the hands and feet of Jesus, providing respite and support. We’re offering our space and exploring ways to alleviate some financial requirements of respite activities. But, ultimately our heart is to see them experience the Love of God.

Our Commitment:

We are committed to giving a special gift to our missionaries, and to providing help to the local foster families. Our giving is an opportunity to go above and beyond. Let’s give generously and cheerfully, knowing that our giving impacts lives and opens us up to God’s work.

Our Missionary Partners:

Heidi Longworth, Romania: Heidi works with a church in Hunedoara, Romania. Having spent many years as a worship leader, she felt called to Romania to serve as a missionary. We have been blessed with having Heidi be a part of New Life over the years in various capacities. If you want to read more about Heidi and her work as a Missionary visit here.

Phil & Anneke Taylor, Sweden: Phil and Anneke have been involved in missions work in Sweden for over twenty years. Having served the kingdom through supporting a local church and YWAM (Youth With A Mission) School, in recent years they have also been supporting Church Planting in Tanzania. You can read more about Phil & Anneke Taylor here.

Tim & Ali Robinson, UK-Based/Worldwide: Tim & Ali between 2011 and 2022 served with Wycliffe UK in Nigeria with a vision to see the Bible translated into every language. Since 2022, they still work with Wycliffe but are based in the UK and sent out all across the world to support this effort. You can read more about Tim and Ali here.

Chamnap Seang, Cambodia: Chamnap is the National Leader of Elim in Cambodia. Elim in recent years is planting a number of churches across Cambodia using the 'four-fields' methodology. You can read more about Chamnap and Elim Cambodia here.

Africa Street Youth Ministries, Zimbabwe: Africa Street Youth Ministries (ASYM) was formed a number of years ago by former New Life member Farai Katiro who sadly passed away during COVID.
